Your workweek
On Monday you start your week with a 9 a.m. team meeting. After the meeting, you get yourself prepared to go to a viewing. After the viewing you agree with your potential buyers when the next moment of contact will be and you use every opportunity to help them find their dream home this week whilst they are here.
In the afternoon you call the clients whom you met last week. They showed interest in one of the properties you had shown. While speaking to them they inform you they want to do an offer but they have some questions. You answer all their questions and then ask all the right questions you need to formulate the offer clearly and pass it on to the owner of the property. For the next hours/days this negotiation is your priority. Also when lawyers get involved, it is you who keeps communication going in between all parties.
At the end of the day you are meeting an owner who is considering selling his home. You go there to meet the owner, get to know the property, and also to understand why the owner wants to sell and how you can best help him. After the meeting you prepare a property valuation to present to the owner when you meet him again on Wednesday.
When the owner confirms on Wednesday he wants to sell, the next step is to agree an asking price, collect all property documents, sign a mediation agreement, book the photographer, write the description and get the property online as best and quickly as possible.
During the week you also spend time prospecting. Having a good, quality property portfolio is an important aspect of being an agent.
At the end of the week, there is room to catch up with your colleagues over drinks to end the work week together.

What began as a pleasant vacation in Portugal, eventually resulted in a dynamic organization within the brokerage business. Like many others, entrepreneur Chantal Bruining fell in love with the beautiful Algarve and in 2009 opened her doors for the first time for Dutch customers who wanted to buy a (second) home in Portugal.
Divine Home now has 6 offices, of which 5 in Portugal (Albufeira, São Brás de Alportel, Moncarapacho, Mértola and Loulé) and 1 office in the Netherlands. From these offices we work on selling real estate in Portugal, renting it out (through sister company Portucasa) and we value giving a great service to our clients. This is done by a team of enthusiastic colleagues with different nationalities, including: English, Portuguese, Dutch and Belgian.
